Using TripLink
TripLink manages ride requests on behalf of Community Rides, COAST, Ready Rides, Community Action Partnership of Strafford County, and Rockingham Nutrition & Meals on Wheels. If you use one of those services, call TripLink at 834-6010 to request a ride!
If you are looking for transportation, TripLink staff will try to find a ride for anyone who calls us. However, many of the available low-cost services are limited to older adults and/or adults with disabilities. Likewise, many services only provide certain types of trips. For example, Ready Rides provides Non-Emergency Medical Transportation and only brings people to doctor’s appointments or other medical care. Other services limit their Shopping trips to set grocery stores on specific days of the week. TripLink Reservationists can explain the services to you in detail, or you can call the transportation provider directly.
Here are the answers to some common questions that we receive:
Q. How do I register?
A. You can register for most of the region’s low-cost options using the TripLink Common Application. The online version of our Common Application will walk you through the process of determining which services you might qualify for and helps you apply for them all at the same time. Services that participate in the Common Application include Community Rides, COAST’s ADA Paratransit, COAST’s Portsmouth Senior Transportation, COAST’s Route 7 On Demand, Rockingham Nutrition & Meals on Wheels’ Senior Shuttle, Ready Rides, TASC, and Strafford CAP’s Senior Transportation Bus.
A print version is also available.
Q. How much does a ride cost?
A. It depends! Some services are free, others are by donation, and some cost a set fare.
Q. What services do I qualify for?
A. It depends! Eligibility varies between agencies based on where you live, your age, and whether you have a disability.
Q. How far in advance do I need to request a ride?
A. It depends! For volunteer programs you usually need to request a ride 1 week in advance. For other programs it’s usually 1 or 2 days.
Q. How can I keep track of my ride requests?
A. Call or email TripLink, and we will send you a Trip Request Journal at no charge.
