Can't get groceries? Seacoast Volunteers will help

On Thursday, a masked Jennifer Fuller placed a half-gallon of milk and jar of peanut butter on a small wooden table outside of Ruth Kenick’s front door. As they greeted each other through a glass pane, Fuller cleaned the small grocery delivery with disinfectant wipes.

Kenick, of Portsmouth, has asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and requires a pacemaker. She is not leaving her home to grocery shop during the current health emergency.

An assemblage of more than 100 volunteers across the Seacoast region are currently waiting for the phone to ring, to help people like Kenick.

Prepared to grocery shop, pick up prescriptions and then deliver to those most high-risk amid the coronavirus outbreak, they’re part of a substantial grassroots effort called Seacoast Volunteers.
